Virtual Airpower • Structured Training • Realistic Operations

A modern virtual Air Force built for serious flight simulation.

Founded in 1999, the Virtual United States Air Force has evolved into a global military flight simulation organization operating across VATSIM and multiple simulation platforms. Built on professionalism, realism, training, and community, vUSAF continues to develop the next generation of virtual military aviation operations. vUSAF gives members a clear path from initial flight screening to mission qualification, then places them into realistic air mobility, combat, ISR, AWACS, and aerial refueling operations.

Before You Enlist

vUSAF is a structured VATSIM Special Operations organization—not an unrestricted military virtual airline. Membership is intended for flight-simulation pilots who are prepared to meet established training, proficiency, and participation standards.

New pilots must complete mandatory academics, supervised flight training, evaluations, and aircraft-specific qualification before participating fully in operational missions. Applicants are expected to possess basic flight-simulation, aircraft-control, navigation, and VATSIM skills before entering training. AETC provides military-oriented qualification training; it is not intended to serve as a complete introduction to flight simulation or VATSIM.

Initial training requires a minimum of ten documented training hours and may require additional instruction based on individual proficiency. Completion is based on demonstrated proficiency—not simply the accumulation of training hours.

Accepted applicants must begin the accession process and demonstrate meaningful activity within 14 days. Members should also be prepared for scheduled instructor interaction, independent study, VATSIM operations, evaluations, continuing currency requirements, and sustained participation.

If you are looking primarily for unrestricted access to military aircraft or casual military flying without training and qualification requirements, vUSAF may not be the right organization for you.
