Policy Statement

Scope of approved vUSAF activity

Under this policy, vUSAF operations are limited to USAF-appropriate mission profiles and approved VSOA activities. Operations outside normal Air Force doctrine may only be conducted as approved joint-service or special-event exercises.

Authorized Operations: vUSAF may conduct aerial refueling, combat maneuvering, low-level military routes, intercepts, war games, search and rescue/personnel recovery, humanitarian operations, airshows, UAV operations, and special use airspace activities when those activities are organized, briefed, and flown in compliance with VATSIM and vUSAF standards.

  • Personnel recovery, humanitarian support, and airshow participation

Limited / Joint-Only Activities

  • Carrier operations are joint-service or exchange-event only
  • Civilian firefighting is not a core vUSAF mission profile
  • Pure commercial airline operations are not primary vUSAF activities
  • Naval strike warfare belongs outside normal vUSAF operational scope
  • Non-USAF profiles require Command Staff approval before publication
